The Root of Pietism

The root of Pietism is the smug self-satisfaction of ones own piety, and the disgust felt at other people's lack there of is its fertilizer.

Indeed! ...and both are watered by any "new measures" that are put in place in order to enhance the bliss of the former and fix the problem posed by latter.

And here we see how pietism is really just a religion of human works.

I think that that qualifier is important.
