The Theological Overtones of Toy Story 3

You know, there are some nifty theological overtones in Toy Story 3. . .

So, when all the toys are doubting their value, their worth, if Andy still loves them - debating whether they should go to the Attic or run away, Sheriff Woody lifts up his foot and points to the name written there - Andy. That name lets them know who they are, who they are to trust, lets them know who loves them and will see that they are rightly cared for, even if that means being patient in the Attic.

So, Christian - have you ever doubted your worth? Has the world every tried to convince you that God doesn't love you - that you should just slug off on your own to make the best of things now? Remember that you have a Name written upon you - the Name of the Triune God, the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. That is who you are - one whom Christ Jesus died to forgive, one whom Christ Jesus rose again for so that you would share in His life forever.

Things seem rough, patience wearing thin. Remember who you are, and more to the point, Whose you are.
